Conversions
Detroit EV converts gas vehicles to electric. We convert customer's vehicles as well as our vehicles for re-sale. Recent conversions are a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a 2003 Chevy S10. Photos will be posted in the near future.
Detroit EV uses high performance motors, controllers and chargers the three largest components of a conversion, besides batteries. Many batteries options are available, including Lithium, NiMH, Sealed and Flooded Lead batteries.
DC systems are most common for conversions. A high performance DC system would include a WarP motor, a Zilla controller, and Manzanita Micro Charger.
AC systems are more OEM in design and offer regenerative braking and more programmable features.
