About Us

Detroit EV opened for business in 2007 with the goal to promote the awareness and use of electric vehicles by putting them on the road.

Detroit EV can convert almost any vehicle from gas to electric. We have designed and sold multiple EL-R kit EVs with Superlite Cars. Recent conversions are a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a 2003 Chevy S10. Future vehicles will include a Saturn Vue, Saturn SL, a Porsche 911, Porsche Boxster, and other vehicles. We offer pricing for the S10 and PT Cruiser basic EV conversions, contact us if you would like other vehicles/options quoted.

Facilities: Detroit EV has two main locations in the Detroit area, headquartered in Brighton, MI and our assembly shop is in Clinton Twp., MI. Additional facilities available as needed.

Detroit EV is a member of and works closely with the Michigan Chapter of the Electric Auto Association.

Detroit EV is also a member of the National Electric Drag Racing Association, or NEDRA.
